What are the likely factors which would cause a program to give the error saying Run-time error '7': Out of memory? I get this error message even when the Commit Charge at the bottom right of the Task Manager reads: 130488K/381036K. I have 128MB of RAM and 256-346MB of Virtual Memory. Any ideas? :p

Generally a "Buggy" program will be the cause. Nothing you can do but notify the maker.

But it worked fine about a month ago. The problem came up at the same time as the other problem in another post, titled Multires.

Then I would tryrunning it at a lower resolution or possibly even reducing the hardware acceleration setting. Another thought; perhaps your video adapter is corrupt and could benefit from a reinstall or possibly updated drivers.

Thanks for your help, Zephyr, I appreciate it very much, but it still isn't hitting the nail in the head. :p

The program is actually a non-commercial macro program which is used to display information about various Monsters/Items for a game. It just types out all the text that has been stored as a .txt file into the game in a proper format which is used to chat in the game. As such, the tip about reducing the resolution or hardware acceleration wouldn't pretty much apply. *sigh*

I would agree with the possibility that the video adapter is corrupt (it's less than a month old though :(), but as for the drivers, nope, I checked it out, it's the latest.

Chenghow - how about making a copy of the exact, complete error message from your event logs and posting it here?

If you open an event and click on the double-page icon just below the up and down arrows, it puts a text-only copy of the event in your clipboard and you can just open a reply and paste the thing.

I don't seem to be able to find it in the Event Logs..

The only information I can provide seems to be the error message when the application is run, which is Run-time error '7': Out of memory.. with a yellow triangle containing a black exclamation mark inside..
