This might be strange but my Microsoft Paint 5.1 speaks German when I open a "Print Review" screen under the file menu. As far as I can tell this is the only screen this happens in.

Anybody out there have any ideas?

    Windows XP Pro SP3
    Intel Celeron M 1.70GHz
    1.12GB RAM

Did you download the german version from the german website?
Do you have any other software that speaks german, if yes, it could have set the default for some programms to german. Happend with my german MS word.

I did not download Microsoft Paint at all. MS Paint comes pre-packaged with every version of Microsoft OS from Windows 3.0 on. I have not other software on my system for which a German version is installed.

Never did get an answer to this but it is now OBE (overcome by events). I bought a new laptop with Win 7 on it.
