I was wondering if one can install a program and run it from another internal non-os drive on a computer?

A friend has a c:drive that only has 18gb space left, while his internal f:drive has plenty to spare. Yes, he has moved his photos, music, and other items to an external drive, but would still like to use the f:drive on his computer for a program (Geolives PC Editor) which manages maps of huge megabyte content.

    Thank you. :)

Most apps will let you install to just about anywhere. Early on - most apps ask you where you'd like to install but they suggest C:\Program Files (as an example).

Thanks, Steve. We'll see how that goes and will get back to you when he tries to do that. ;)

The guy spoke to me today and said that he hasn't tried to do this yet. Hopefully he'll get around to it soon so that I can report back.

Alas, He now tells me that he tried to install the program on his data drive and was unsuccessful. Perhaps it needs to be installed on the drive where Windows resides, not on the data drive?

If the installer does not give the option to select the installation drive then it will default to C:\
