OK, no other tool indicate TDL being present (GMER, MBRCheck), so we'll leave DDS alone.
Just for a peace of mind....delete your Combofix file, download fresh one and post new log.

Here is the latest Combofix log.
I realize I'm not the malware expert I don't think we should give up trying to chase that TDL3 thing yet.
The condition this machine is in right now is where I was at last Thursday. Sitting unattended but connected to the internet, by Sunday night I was having to Ctrl-Esc and use the command line to get some utilities running to get it clean enough to start this thread.

    Well, I can't chase something what I can't see.
GMER, MBRCheck and Combofix don't show any rootkit activity.
DDS says "possible" and that's about it.
There is no way, three other tools wouldn't show a rootkit, if it was there.

We can run one more scan and that will be about it.

Please download Rootkit Unhooker from one of the following links and save it to your desktop.
In order to use this tool if you downloaded from either of the second two links, you will need to extract the RKUnhookerLE.exe file using a program capable of extracing ZIP and RAR compressed files. If you don't have an extraction program, you can downlaod, install and use the free 7-zip utility.

    • Double-click on RKUnhookerLE.exe to start the program.
Vista/Windows 7 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
    • Click the Report tab, then click Scan.
    • Check Drivers, Stealth, and uncheck the rest.
    • Click OK.
    • Wait until it's finished and then go to File > Save Report.
    • Save the report to your Desktop.
    • Copy and paste the contents of the report into your next reply.
-- Note: You may get this warning...just ignore it, click OK and continue: "Rootkit Unhooker has detected a parasite inside itself! It is recommended to remove parasite, okay? ".

    Here's the log:
What's sort of odd is that the report in the RKUnhookerLE window also says "
!!POSSIBLE ROOTKIT ACTIVITY DETECTED!! =)" at the bottom but this log file doesn't contain that last line.

This type of message, may be caused by some legit program as well.
All drivers are listed as "Stealth ", so at this point I have no other choice, but to move on.

Are you experiencing any current issues with your computer?

    1. Download Security Check from HERE, and save it to your Desktop.
    • Double-click SecurityCheck.exe
    • Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
    • A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

NOTE SecurityCheck may produce some false warning(s), so leave the results reading to me.

    2. Download Temp File Cleaner (TFC)
    • Double click on TFC.exe to run the program.
    • Click on Start button to begin cleaning process.
    • TFC will close all running programs, and it may ask you to restart computer.

    3. Please run a free online scan with the ESET Online Scanner

    • Disable your antivirus program
    • Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use
    • Click Start
    • IMPORTANT! UN-check Remove found threats
    • Accept any security warnings from your browser.
    • Check Scan archives
    • Click Start
    • ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
    • When the scan completes, push List of found threats
    • Click on Export to text file , and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
    • NOTE. If Eset won't find any threats, it won't produce any log.

    You didn't say:
    Update Adobe Reader

You can download it from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
After installing the latest Adobe Reader, uninstall all previous versions.
Note. If you already have Adobe Photoshop® Album Starter Edition installed or do not wish to have it installed UNcheck the box which says Also Download Adobe Photoshop® Album Starter Edition.

Alternatively, you can uninstall Adobe Reader (33.5 MB), download and install Foxit PDF Reader(3.5MB) from HERE.
It's a much smaller file to download and uses a lot less resources than Adobe Reader.
Note: When installing FoxitReader, make sure to UN-check any pre-checked toolbar, or other garbage.
    On this page:

make sure, you have both boxes UN-checked AND (important!) click on Decline button

Sorry I missed that initial question. Was focused on reading instructions and following rules. :)
It seems to be pretty good. I just fired up Outlook because it often tells the tale.
One of the symptoms has been continual network drops and reconnects. These happen so fast that if you're just browsing, you never seen them at all. But because of the way I have Outlook connected via a corporate proxy, it detects network changes immediately and pops a warning that the connection has been lost which is then restored just seconds later. With TCP/IP traffic, this can actually happen right in the middle of a download without any affect on the download.

And I just saw it happen. So who knows. When we're all done and you declare things clean, I just might try running Hitman Pro just for the heck of it. It does make me fairly suspicious that there is this brand new rootkit floating around that no one else can spot or clean but somehow their version does.

Anyway, I've uninstalled Adobe Reader completely and installed Foxit. I wasn't aware of this wonderful little tool or I'd have switched long ago.

ESET is still running. I'll post the log when it finishes.

Hitman Pro is nothing else, but a bunch of free tools put together into one applications.
It won't do anything else, what we already did.
Hitman Pro seems to also have some copyright issues.

I didn't see your last post, so....

    Your computer is clean :)

    1. We need to reset system restore to prevent your computer from being accidentally reinfected by using some old restore point(s). We'll create fresh, clean restore point, using following OTL script:

    Run OTL

    • Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following:

    Code:
    :OTL
    :Commands
    [purity]
    [emptytemp]
    [EMPTYFLASH]
    [CLEARALLRESTOREPOINTS]
    [Reboot]
    • Then click the Run Fix button at the top
    • Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
    • Post resulting log.

    2. Now, we'll remove all tools, we used during our cleaning process

    Clean up with OTL:

    • Double-click OTL.exe to start the program.
    • Close all other programs apart from OTL as this step will require a reboot
    • On the OTL main screen, press the CLEANUP button
    • Say Yes to the prompt and then allow the program to reboot your computer.

If you still have any tools or logs leftover on your computer you can go ahead and delete those off of your computer now.

    3. Make sure, Windows Updates are current.

    4. If any Trojan was listed among your infection(s), make sure, you change all of your on-line important passwords (bank account(s), secured web sites, etc.) immediately!

    5. Download, and install WOT (Web OF Trust): http://www.mywot.com/. It'll warn you (in most cases) about dangerous web sites.

    6. Run Malwarebytes "Quick scan" once in a while to assure safety of your computer.

    7. Run Temporary File Cleaner (TFC) weekly.

    8. Download and install Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI): http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/. The Secunia PSI is a FREE security tool designed to detect vulnerable and out-dated programs and plug-ins which expose your PC to attacks. Run it weekly.

    9. (optional) If you want to keep all your programs up to date, download and install FileHippo Update Checker.
The Update Checker will scan your computer for installed software, check the versions and then send this information to FileHippo.com to see if there are any newer releases.

    10. Run defrag at your convenience.

    11. Read How did I get infected?, With steps so it does not happen again!: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic2520.html

    12. Please, let me know, how your computer is doing.

Ok, I guess it's clean then based on all of the current logs and what we've done. It'll be interesting to see if it stays that way.
Given that this machine sits running connected to the internet 24/7, if it still has something hiding, it's going to result in reinfection post haste.

Guess I just wait and see what happens.

Interesting. I just spotted stuff in the SEP quarantine directory.
Perhaps we should run MalwareBytes again.

    And MalwareBytes won't run.
    PROGRAM_ERROR_ENUMERATE_LANGUAGES (3,0)
The system cannot find the path specified.
I didn't move or uninstall it.

So, given that SEP is throwing stuff into quarantine and that MalwareBytes won't run, I think I still have a problem.
    Now what?

    Yes.

    1. I'd have to see what's NEW there.
    2. That's one of the reason, you have security program, so it protects you.

    1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
    2. Restart your computer (very important).
    3. Download and run this utility.
    4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).
    5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from here.

Lastly...never panic. In most cases, things are fixable, if....there is something to fix :)

Have you run OTL cleanup yet?
I assume, you didn't reset your restore points yet.
Please, complete all 12 steps FIRST.
