[put a password on my wireless]

    hey.

    i was wondering if i could get some advice on how to put a password on my wireless internet. it has really slowed down in the past week so im guessing my neighbours are using it.

    1. open your Web browser.

    2. enter this address: 192.168.2.1 and press the Return key (Enter).

    3. press the Login button. (That router ships with no password
    entered. In the login screen, leave the password blank and click the
    “Submit" button to log in.)

    4. click the Wireless tab and do this:
    - change SSID to a unique name like "tyler-net" or whatever you'd like.
    - change channel to 1 or 11 for best performance.
    - set security for wifi to WPA/WPA2-Personal (PSK).
    - for Authentication select WPA-PSK.
    - for Encryption Technique select TKIP.

    5. you'll now have lost your wifi connection, reconnect to the "new" SSID if you renamed it and use the passkey.

    6. login to the router again and set a login username and password.
