    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Excel, I have a cell when clicked has a hyperlink to the calculator. When clicked, prior to the calculator appearing, there is a pop-up, which states:

"Some files can contain viruses or otherwise be harmful...

Would you like to open this file?

    OK Cancel "

Is there something I can do to void this pop up?

Please post in the correct forum - this is not a Windows 7 issue - it is an Excel issue and please always post the version of Office. 2007/20010 are very different from earlier versions.

    Moved to Other Software.

    Pete,
I understand your concern and reaction to my post. However, your comment is only half correct. I have learned that it is the Microsoft Office product involved and affects all Microsoft Office programs. Thank you.

I am not with you on that - it is IMO a standard response in Office based on the macro security you have set.

Please post the version of Office as requested above.

This fix should work for Office 2007. Don't use it if you have a different version or do so at your own risk. I could not find the same warning message relating to any other version.

While editing my post for an incorrect URL it's been resolved.

Could you please tell us how you resolved it, it may help others with a similar problem.

According to PETE, I am in the wrong forum and I did not wish to prolong the debate.

You were in the wrong forum:)

I am trying to help resolve your problem not debate about which forum you are in.

Was the advise in post 5 any use to you, if not please tell me what version of Office you have and I'll source an answer for you.

I understand and agree. My pettiness was directed toward Pete, not you. Pete, sorry. I am a grouch and stubborn. I will try to be more pleasant.

I am using MS Office 2010 Professional. I followed the instructions very closely. However, when the instruction said to click on 12, I clicked on 14. Nothing worked and I do not know why. I may try it again, because there were some choices/decisions that did not match the instructions.

I have just checked the MS link I gave in post 5 and although it has the heading for Office 2007 it does also relate to Office 2010. You can see this in the drop down list at the bottom of the page "Applies to +" There does not appear to be a seperate set of instructions solely for Office 2010.
