Firefox suddenly ceased in its ability to find servers providing the following messge:

"The requested URL could not be retrieved "

This is of course 32 bit firefox running on a 64 bit machine. The standard addressing function does work. Accordingly placing for example http://google.com in the address box does work. Following previous posts the properties tab on Firefox shows Firefox to not be in safe mode thusly:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe "

    Can someone assist?

close FF, open your firewall, find the FF entry, and remove it. Restart FF. Does it work now?

IF not, then check your HOSTS file.
