excel 2003 file freezes in win 7

    I open two excel files and so far so good. Then when I open the third the system gets buggy. My mouse disappears on open windows. the start menu freezes in place, etc. I experimented with closing the one file and the system normalized. I also use Axcrpyt for these particular encrypted files.
