I use ACT! from windows xp mode in Virtual PC. When I back up a database it appears that it does not see my Win7 folders. Is there a shortcut to placing the backups on Win7 rather than having to cut and paste?

    Hi,

Not sure what you're asking, but if you make a shortcut target \\tsclient\ you can then specify the drive/folder.

For example my Windows 7 C drive is \\tsclient\C, and my Documents folder \\tsclient\C\Users\Arie\Documents

There's nothing cryptic about my reply.

    On the VPC XP desktop:

    • Right-click and choose New > Shortcut
    • Click the Browse button, click My Computer in the Browse For Folder window
    • Under My Computer you should see the drives listed on the Windows 7 host PC
    • Browse to the folder you want, select it and click Next on the Create Shortcut window
    • You can give it a name or keep the default name offered, click Finish

You can now Drag & Drop files directly from your virtual XP to the Windows 7 folder, and probably even set your program to save to the shortcut (thus the Win7 folder) directly...

You need to have the Integration Features enabled for this to work (but that also needs to be there for the copy/paste routine to work that you are using now).
