    Hi-

    So about once a day, my hard drive just goes ballistic along with about 20 - 30% usage on both CPU's. I run the "Filemon.exe" diagnositc tool from Microsoft and get these entries non-stop:

    ccSvcHst.exe:1224 FASTIO_CHECK_IF_POSSIBLE
    ccSvcHst.exe:1224 FASTIO_READ

    Anybody know what this is? I suspect it's a Norton AV issue because the path listed is
    Docs and Sets\User\App Data\Norton\{wierdstuff...}
    but I haven't found anything conclusive to associate it with a Norton task or known issue. Of course all virus/malware scans come up clean at the moment.

    Thx

    As far as I can tell this FASTIO entry is nothing to worry about.

    What I would suggest is to quickly look in Task Manager when you hear your hard drive working hard and look to see what process is using a lot of resources.

    ccSvcHst.exe is the only thing that is using CPU cycles during this process.
