I have a HP Desk Jet F4480 printer with a PC utilizing Windows XP Pro.

I had a situatrion where I had to power down my PC then power back up.
After doing this my printer went offline and I have resolved that issue howerver now when I print e-mail or matter from internet the print size is so small that it is hardly readable

How can I reset m,y printet so that it prints at least the equivalent of a size 10 or 12 font.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

    This should fix it.

From your menu bar, click Tools and then select Internet Options
On the General tab, click the Accessibility button
Check the Ignore font sizes specified on webpages.

Does the printer produce the correct size font when printing a word document, if not I would uninstall the printer drivers and reinstall them from the disc.

If it is only a problem with email printouts I'll look into this a little deeper.

I selected a few documents from My Documents that were Word.doc files and they printed normally.

I printed a few e-mails and some were fine, others presented the shrinking of font size problem.

Click the arrow next to the printer icon on top right of the toolbar. Click Page setup and then click the Change Font button and set the font size, 10 should be OK. Also check the box Shrink to Fit

    See if that helps.

    From your first post.
What was the problem that caused you to have to do this, it is probably connected, please explain.

The power down was due to a dowload requirng a restart.

I did as you suggested with respect to change font size and it did nothing

It may be a coincidence but it seems highly likely that this download caused a problem with the printer and is still causing a problem.

Do a system restore back before the download. See if that puts printing back to normal.

If not, completely remove the printer drivers and software and reinstall. Check first to see if there are any updated drivers for the printer.

Tell me what this download was.

I seem to be normally printing anything I want now except for the one e-mail that was the original problem. It was a Yahoo originated e-mail and contained several large (8X10) photos.

The photos printed OK, it wass the correspondence portion that had the problem, and I suspect the originator played around with his Yahoo e-mail to get the photos to fit, Yahoo is kinda flakly that way, I use it as a secondary, back-up-mail at times and sending photos with it is sometimes quite difficult.

I was able to copy and paste the Yahoo e-mail to Microsoft Word and it would print normally.

I 'm sorry but I just simply do not recall what the download was other that it was a add-on software download update.

I think we can now call the problem resolved.

As you only had this problem with one email then, as you have said, it was probably due to the way the email was created.

That is what I am beginning to believe.

I also rudely failed to say thank you for your help.

    Thank you.
