Resolved Can't get a DVD to play on Media Player?

Howdy,my buddy put a DVD in his PC's Media Player (Ver 11.5) I think, he has XP-3 anyway up popped a notice that said "Media Player cannot play the DVD because of compatible decoder not in your PC" ? I think is what it said. We then tried to update Media Player but to no avail. Any ideas?
