A file that was created in Excel 03 has a user-define variable of IFERROR in many of the formulas. When one of our users opening the same file in Excel 07, a dialogue box opens with the following message:

I've read a bit about the IFERROR function in Excel 07, as well as how well user-defined functions work, but I haven't found any posts about my specific error. If I'm reading right, though, we need to change the IFERROR user-defined function in Excel (I've never used them - how would I do this?), and then change every cell with IFERROR in the formula?

I read something about how a file called personal.xlsm holds all the user-defined variables. Can we import the variables to this user's personal.xlsm file? Many people across the network use this file on Excel 03, but we only have a small handful of people using Office 07, so this is the first time we've come across an error like this.

    Not quite.

The Excel 2003 sheet is already using IFERROR as a user-defined variable.

When you open the sheet in 2007, it says that 07 has it's own default IFERROR, and the one in the file (from 2003) will no longer work like it used to. This leaves many fields broken in the sheet.

I need to know what to do to the 2003 file to make it not broken in 2007.

The thread you showed me is about people trying to replicate IFERROR in 2007 into a 2003 sheet. It's going the wrong way to help me, I think.

I attempted the conversion fix, as decribed in your link, Mark.

The formula errors still remain even after conversion.

Are there any more suggestions? I keep poking around google, but I haven't found anything beyond "rewrite the formulas" out there.

I hit a wall looking for any other solutions for you, so unfortunately I think you will have to do this the hard way.
