Have tried all normal ways to start the Indexing service, but unable to do so.
Windows trouble shooting says: Problem found - Windows Search Service NOT Running - Not Fixed.

Here is what I did to get to above screen:
    Start/ RT-clk Computer/ Properties
Click Performance Information & Tools & Clcik Adjust Indexing Options
Indexing Options window showed: Indexing not running. I clicked on Troubleshoot Search and Indexing
In Search & Indexing window, typed description as " Indexing not running "

Now, after a few seconds, got the message shown above.

Don't know where to go to FIX this problem so that the Search & Indexing service runs.
    Thanks.

Yes, i have looked and used all three places and they just don't fix the problem. Starting Windows Search Service, ultimately, gives: Error 3: The System Cannot find Specified path!

Still looking for ways to fix this problem.

    Thanks.

I suggest you run System File Checker - it may or may not fix the issue ....

Nothing worked. Contacted Microsoft, and they had to REINSTALL W 7, and now everything works. I had to spend lots of time in reinstalling my apps, but it is done. Thanks.
