I recently reset the computer clock because it was 4 hrs slow. System tray entry is OK, but emails in OE6 seem to be 4 hrs behind 'system tray' time.

Just send myself an email at 4:42 pm (timestamp in sent message folder)
    Inbox shows 1:42 pm.

What to do, what to do.

The gremlins are hard at work.

Can you double check the Clock time again, ensure that you are using the correct Time Zone for your area

If you keep having to reset the time this is a sure sign that your motherboard battery needs to be replaced. If you tell me the make and model of your PC I will give you the instructions for its replacement. On some laptops it is soldered in place so will need a professional.

Mark the fact that the minutes are correct and the hours offset is consistent is a clear indication of a time-zone problem not a CMOS battery. It's best to make sure that that is not the case before messing about in the internals of the PC in my opinion.

True. But that is why I said "If you keep having to reset the time "

Fair enough, but in my experience people often ignore if's and but's.

Either way I'm fairly certain indmusic is on the right track here so let's just see how it pans out.

Sirs, You are correct that I selected an invalid time zone when I corrected the original time problem. Now the time zone has been corrected, the puzzle is solved.

    Thank you both.
