A question of Windows 7 "Starter Edition" on a netbook
I had read that the OS was somewhat limited in reading only a maximum of 1 gig of ram
Yet others have claimed that it reads 2 gig no problem
Does anyone have any experience in this matter

    thank you

Windows 7: Which Edition Should You Choose?

As with all 32 bit systems the max RAM it will use is ~3.3 - 3.5 Gb out of 4 Gb..

How much RAM you can actually put in a specific netbook will be shown in the specifications for that netbook.

My Asus EeePC takes a max of 2 Gb, which I have fitted and is recognised. Admittedly it is running 7 Home Premium although it was originally supplied with XP Home.

According to MSDN, Windows 7 Starter is limited to 2GB

Installed Memory: 3.0 GB (2.0 GB usable)
