Does anyone know of a program / utility that will work in XP Pro which is similar to the Symantics/Norton File Manger. File Manager BTW replaced Xtree and PC Tools.

This was always so much more powerful and easy to use the Windows Explorer that I have to admit I still don't have the hang of it.

(i.e.: with Explorer there is no way that I can see to list the entire drive to easily find a file or to see multiple copies.)

Sure all you gotta do is go to Start \ Find or Search \ then type in *.* click on search and you will see every file on your pc.

    Agent Ransack.

I use it on my personal XP box and on a number of 2K servers with large RAID drive arrays (to over 200Gb per drive and 7 drives in the array). Lots faster and for a "file manager" has some great features that Windows Explorer lacks.

Liked it well enough that I have made a donation to the author.

    Dad and Newt,

Thanks for the feedback. I tried what you mentioned Dad and it works, but it's a bit cumbersome and slow. Also it's not as versitile as a file manager.

Newt, I'll take a look at Agent Ransack. After a bit of searching I found two other items trhat may do the job. Both are shareware and the explanations are a bit terse.

    Again, thanks for the feedback.
