How csn I get the folder(??) "My Documents" to be a single entry and not a Folder with sub folders at "Start Up ". I wold like it to be "Mydocuments' followed by "My Computer" etc not a complete listing of all the sub folders in "My Documents ".

Please be advised that I have limited time on a computer at the present time and will check back every two hours or so.

A answer would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Hi Oldbear welcome to WindowsBBS :D,

I'm not entirly sure what you are asking but "My Documents" is exactly that ie the contents of your "My Documents" folder. This could (and normally would) include sub folders of eg "My Music ", "My pictures" etc.

If you want all your documents to appear in one folder (not recomended) then all you need to do is copy those files out of the sub folders.

What I want to do is have "My Documents" collapsed. Now it is expanded and I really never use it. I have other folders that I can use. I hope this clarifies what I am trying to do.

Thank you for the fast reply.

    Sorry Oldbear,

I'm still not entirely sure what you mean and since I don't have access to an XP system at the moment it would probably be best if I step away and let someone else assist.

I get the idea you mean as though you go to Start button, then you see My Documents, and if you hover the mouse over it, it then expands.
Right click the Start button, select Properties. Then click on Customize. In the new window that opens up titled "Customize Start Menu ", click on the Advanced tab. In the scroll box, change the selection of My Documents to 'Display as a link'. This can be verified as the place to fix your problem if 'Display as a menu' is already selected.
