Just wondering if any one has any experiance with the soundblaster audigy platinum card?

    Troubles:

Trying to hook up an external mini disk player with the optical cables. can't get it to work either playing a mini disk or trying to record one from the computer to mini disk.

tried to get some support from creative (that is like pulling teeth) it has been over a week and still no reply from them.

have checked all cables, connections, etc.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks

I have found over time that the expression "Creative support" is an oxymoron equivalent in absurdity to "rap music ". Creative seems to be resting on its laurels, considering its domination of the soundcard market to be an excuse for lamentable support.

In this home-brew box, I pulled the SB Live! 5.1 after nothing but grief with the infamous conflicts between the VIA chipset and SB Live! cards, and went to a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card. In combo with my Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 speakers, it kicks world-class butt.

You might try uninstalling and reinstalling the SB software. Maybe a file went west during the installation. I've had that problem before.

    thanks

I have already tried that, I have taken out the card and software...put the card back in and reinstalled all the software + the updates for it and still nothing.

    I appreciate the reply though

There are only two Audio cards that I have NEVER had a problem with.

The SoundBlaster 16 ( not the SB 16 Wave table )

And one that is not made any more ( that I know of ) and that is the SBAWE32. ( wish I had not given it away )

And with all of the various machines and OSs that I have had NONE of them has had a problem with either card.

I have one machine with a uselsss Ensoniq ( SB ) Audio card and it is on its merry way to the nearest trash bin as soon as I can get another SB16.

And the SB16 does have a Midi/game port.

    EDIT and add

Is it possible that you may have the infanous IRQ conflict between an Internal modem and the sound card ?
