I am having a problem in Outlook Express 6, I am getting the following error:

    Folder could not be displayed
Outlook Express could not open this folder.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Possible causes are:

    Low disk space.

    Low memory.

I have checked with .dbx files, they r not marked read only, & there is enough memory & free space

    Hi.

    This is taken from a MKB article;

This behavior can occur if the Folders.dbx file is missing, damaged, or using the read-only attribute.

    RESOLUTION
    Rename the Folders.dbx file:
Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
In the Named box, type folders.dbx.
In the Look In box, click your primary hard disk (usually drive C), and then click Find Now.
Right-click the Folders.dbx file, and then click Rename.
Type folders.old, and then click OK.
Start Outlook Express. This creates a new Folders.dbx file automatically.

    Hope this helps.

    Amie

    Hi.

Have you tried doing a repair of Internet Explorer from Add/Remove programs as it is linked to OE.

Also have you tried running System File Checker SFC from the run box to see if you have any corrupted files.

    Try compacting.

Does the message appear when you open OE or when you attempt to navigate to a specific folder? Does the message appear if you open OE immediately following a reboot?
