Resolved Black Screen?

    Something has happened to my laptop. When I boot up, it goes to the Dell splash screen, but instead of going into windows, it goes to a black screen. I have tried rebooting, booting into safe mode, running diagnostics etc, to no avail. Any ideas on what I can do? This laptop has Windows XP Pro and has been fine until today.

    Sorry for not replying. I ended up installing Windows 7 HP after formating the HD. All is well since. I did iose everything I didn't have back up. I still don't know what happened. But that did solve the problem.
