Hello, I am running Seamonkey 2.0.10 on two computers. In email I quite often use save as and generate an eml file.
If I click on the file, on one computer (xp home) I get the file opened in the browser. On the other (xp pro) I get my home page opened. I can't find any configuration differences. Any suggestions?
    thanks
    Mike

click on the windows start button, then Settings, then Control Panel, then double click the Folders Options icon, then the File Types tab. Scroll down until you find EML Internet E-Mail Message. Click on the Advanced button, then click on the Edit button for Open. What do you have listed under "application used to perform action" for both the working and nonworking xp?

XP pro (the one that doesn't work) says:
    Opens with Seamonkey.
You have customized files with the extension "EML ". To restore these files to their default type (internet E-Mail Message click restore.
So I tried that and the default is Outlook Express.
    XP home (does work) says
Files with extension "EML" are of type Seamonkey (Mail) Document.
To change settings that affect all Seamonkey (Mail) Document click advanced

OK, that option didn't work, so try this. Save an eml file to your desktop or wherever. Right click on it, select Open With, Choose Program. From the list you're given, find seamonkey, select it, then at the botton, check "always use the selected program to open this kind of file ", then click OK. If you don't see seamonkey in the list, then select browse, and browse to where seamonkey.exe is located, then follow the rest.

    Did that work?

No - but I cracked it! I was looking in about:config for a reference to eml when it occurred to me to try switching to the default profile. Then I saved a file and it worked.
The clue was a report from winpatrol which I have running. It asked for permission for a change in a the file type association for eml. The change was from
    C:\Program files\seamonkey\seamonkey.exe -osint -mail%1
    to seamonkey.exe %1

    So thanks anyway.
    Mike
