I know my Graphic card has 128 on-board & another 128 shared from system RAM. So total it should show as 256 MB. But it shows 887 MB in my Windows 7 32 bit. Why is that? Will you please clarify?

If you're using shared video memory it is most likely set to "Auto" on the amount in BIOS. This means the system reserves up to a certain percentage of the memory installed, and has it available for the graphic card if needed.

You could check in BIOS and se if its set to AUTO, if it is, and you want it to be 128mb shared, you can set that setting there.

Just now I've tried changing the options in the bios(128/256/Auto). Still the same issue.
    What should i do?

    You shouldn't' do anything IMHO.

It is using system memory that isn't being used elsewhere, so there's no problem to fix.

Someone here once said, "Memory is for use. "
Modern Windows operating systems manage memory pretty well, no need to try & conserve it anymore.
