    Hi,
Is there any way i can force that files created under a directory will have the same ownership as the parent directory?
I know i can use the SUBINACL command line tool but i want to change the files ownership whill they are writen and not some time after.
    Thanks.
    Erez.

In the file or directory's Security settings, enable the option Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object.

    this will not work.

ownership and permissions are two different things and when permissions are inherited from the top directory the ownership doesn't.

You're right about permissions and ownership being different. The problem lies in Windows 2000's native feature that automatically makes the creator of the file the owner. Is there any particular reason you want to specify ownership properties of files even before they're created?
