    I updated my web pages using Page Plus and WS_FTP without any problems. Looking at my web pages using Google Chrome my site shows the correct updated pages no problems. Using Mozilla Firefox my web pages are exactly the same as they were before I upgraded the pages. Why is this happening?

    Hi!

    This is probably because Firefox has cached your website, thus saving the state it was in before the update. To fix this:

    Go to Tools > Clear recent history.
    Make sure Cache is selected, press OK.

    Refresh your site, or restart browser.

    Hi Thank you for interest. Page Plus is a Serif package and WS_FTP is an Ipswitch File Transfer package. Both work very well for me and have done for about 10 years.

    a couple of other options you can do is click the reload/refresh button. If that doesn't work, then hold down the ctrl key and hit the F5 key. These should bypass the cache.

    A final option is to change a firefox setting: in the address bar type in about:config then click on the warning message. Now look for this entry:

    browser.cache.check_doc_frequency

    once found double click on it and change it to a 1 or a 3. Restart firefox.

    0 = once per session
    1 = everytime I view the page
    2 = never
    3 = when the page is out of date

    I used to use WS_FTP, but for the last several years I've been using a FF extension called FireFTP. It opens on a new tab in the browser, so you don't have to run a separate external program to upload your files.

    FWIW, I've never found it necessary to use a cache in FF. I have mine set at 0.
