My WIN98SE machine with Outlook Express 5 is suddenly "Unable to find printer" when trying to print any emails. The same hardware/software setup has worked for 2 yrs, and still prints in other applications including IE5.5. The OE accounts and options have been unchanged and still look fine. The Troubleshooting Help wasn't, and no joy in the MS Knowledge Base. Any ideas on what/where the fix is?
    Thanks, RexB

When you click File->Print, does the correct printer show up?

No, when I ask for a print in OE from either the toolbar or File>Print it immediately responds with "unable to find printer ". In Win98SE Settings>Printers, the correct printer, an Epson Stylus Photo 870, is/has been listed correctly as the default printer, and works in every other app. It's strange

    Hi Rex.

Everything I read about your problem seems to suggest that you can't print from OE unless it is the same version number as IE on your system, which is obviously rubbish as it has been working fine for you up until now.

Have you tried running the Microsoft Internet Explorer repair tool, by going to Add/Remove programs and clicking on the remove button for IE. ?

Noo. . . haven't tried IE repair yet, as IE still prints OK even though its symbiotic (is that right word?) OE doesn't. Though if I couldn't print out of IE either it would be a good indicator. I'll give that repair a go after trying OE specific fix suggestions- I thimk it must be a flag or setting within OE itself, though there have been no config changes anywhere. One of those *magic* errors for no apparent reason, aargh.

Upgrade OE. If still no joy, uninstall and reinstall the printer.

    HTH.
