Hi to everyone interested: I live in Tacoma, Washington and have since 1982, when I retired from the US.Army. We do get some snow, here, but it never seems to stay around, instead it turns into Ice, which makes for some very interesting driving! I served 21 years in the Army, with 4 tours of Germany, one tour of Korea and one in Vietnam, the rest in training or as a trainer, in the US. As to the weather, on the other side of the state, they do get DEEP snow and have it stay around a long time, the state is basically divided by a mountain range, with the worst weather on the eastern side. I was born in Cleveland, Ohio, where the snow does get DEEP and stays around for a long time, also! My Mom was a Canadian who came down to Ohio to find work, right at the beginning of WWII, and that is where she met my dad, who worked at the same place. Most of my family that is still alive, lives in Canada, with my daughter and my grandsons, living in Philadelphia, Penn. Computer experience: I would rate myself to a low end intermediate. I have a fairly fast system with some bells and whistles, and a couple of gigs of memory on a 64 bit system. I use three browsers, Chrome-very infrequently as it is limited, IE7-because I still use Win XP with all patches, but only, now, a little more frequently than Chrome, and SeaMonkey ver. 1.1.18-because it is stable and Thunderbird for my emails! Enough about me, I just hope to learn how to better use what I have, to include all the programs I already have installed.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
