I rarely use my HP pavilion laptop un-plugged.

I keep looking at the battery condition and it said 100%... but naturally, it's plugged in.

Does it matter if the battery is even in it?

H P advised me that if you are going to use your laptop constantly powered by the AC Adaptor. You should remove the battery.

Most of the manufacturers now advise you as HP - to remove battery if its going to be plugged in all the time. It may seem to be counter intuitive but constant charging does impact battery life.

I've always thought myself that it effected battery life.
