hi! I'm trying to install applications necessary for my projects such as Adobe reader and SciLab but every time I run it, an error message pops up saying MSVCP90.dll is missing. I tried to download and install the dll in system32 but it did not work. i also installed visual basic but i still get the same error. what am i supposed to do next? I'm using asus UL80A series with 1GB memory and Windows 7 Home Basic as OS.

Hi lycan23, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

The first thing I would do is run the SFC command to verify that all Windows files are present on the system. Click Start< Run and type sfc /scannow and hit enter.

Before running the command make sure you have a Windows XP CD that is the same Service Pack as your installed version of Windows XP. SFC may ask you to insert a Windows XP CD so make sure you use the correct disk otherwise SFC won't be able to check all of your system files.

If SFC doesn't fix the problem you could try running System Restore to restore the computer to an earlier time before you received the error message.

For more information about the above error message take a look here, Msvcp90.dll Not Found Error Resolution.
