Upon booting my 'puter, and before the logon screen, I ge the following message: Svchost.exe--appplication; The instruction at "0x7c91b21a" referenced memory at "0x00000010 ", the memory could not be "written "
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on Cancel to debug the program

I also get the message upon turnng off computer, and it will not shut down until I click on one of the choices.

    Dell Inspiron 530, 2gb ram, Intel 2 duo-core E6550 2.33 Ghz

When I disabled the User Mode Driver Framework the start-up message went away, however, when I shut down I got the following message: "brsvcola.exe--application error. The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000" The memory could not be read, Click here, Click here.
I had to force the computer to restart by using the power button on the 'puter.

When I booted up again I slipped the WXP disk in and did the sfc /scannow thing and that totally fixed everything.

Once again, thank you, thank you. You are da man! I love this site. Peace, Fernando
Oh, I even managed to tag this "resolved" lol
