Resolved Unable to Access external hardisk

    I'm unable to open external hard disk make Transcend 250 gb. It shows in My Computer but when i try to open it shows busy cursor and later shows "Format Drive ". Infact after connecting the drive access to all my drives become slow (tried from my computer).

    Kindly advice on the same.

    Have you used this external hard drive before or have you just acquired it. Is it new or second hand/used.

    Thats probably because its late afternoon where I am:).

    It does not look as if Transcend do a diagnostics download for their hard drives so you will have to go for the 'seagate' link from Arie's post and use the seatools download for dos, instructions are there as well.

    I would get SIW, that could probably tell you which manufacturer's HD is being used by Transcend.

    Hi, Thanks for help guys. I was using it past 2 years .actually gave it to local transcend centre. They were able to recover 90% of the data in another drive. Not using the faulty one.

    resolved.
