My comp shuts down randomly since I installed an LG 23" monitor. model 2340V. I tested it with another monitor an had no problems. The monitor works fine. I'm about to throw the whole setup out thewindow(s). I'm running 64 bit with 8 gigs ram. I had it talor made. The comp runs fine without the new monitor.

Have you looked in Event Viewer for any clues?

Have you the latest graphics drivers for your card?

Click on the Orb (Start button) and type Event Viewer into the Search box. It will be at the top of the list above.

I suspect the issue is rooted in the monitor as another monitor works OK. When you tried the other monitor did you use the same cable or a different one?

FWIW check out your DirectX .....

    Orb > Run > dxdiag > Enter

If you do not have the Run command readily accessible you will find it under All Programs > Accessories.

Also look in Action Centre (Orb > type Action Centre in Search box) for anything relevant under Maintenance > View Reliability History. Click on any red spots with white X for details of the error.

You may also want to answer your previous thread, as you never did reply, even after being asked to do so.

How do you know? Did you try the new monitor on another computer?
