    hi guys.

this is a wierd question since it's a game-related but the official game forums couldnt help nor did other forums i tried. i had no other choice but to come to you as a last resort.

teh game "arcania" is moving in super speed for me. the loading screens, credit screen, gameplay - it all moves in super high speed. i get good frame rates of around 40 or 50 or so but the game is running on fast forward speed.

wierd thing was when i tried the demo for the game it ran just fine. then i got the full game, installed it and - bam, strange super speed bug. when i tried to run the demo again i got the bug too! now no matter if i uninstall both game and demo, whatever i install later is in super speed. the demo too.

i tried reinstalling the game, reinstalling directX, reinstalling physx, uninstalling demo, running in win5\98\2000\nt compatibility mod, using speed hacks to slow down the game, winthrottle to slow down the computer... nothing! super speed it is.

here is how the game runs

    any suggestions?

although i feel a certain sensation of pride for having such a unique bug i would have preferred to just be able to run the game.

    cheers

I doubt you get any help here either. Have a look here:

Oh, there may be a patch... I suggest you contact the manufacturer or return the game.

Did you download this game over the internet or do you have the discs. If it was a download it could have been corrupted. Sounds like you have tried everything else possible, or is there some hard to find setting that will allow adjustment of the games speed of play.

If this is Gothic 4 that you have, I see it was only released about two weeks ago so there could be some early teething trouble. Have you tried the game on another PC.

Just a final thought, did you check the minimum system requirements to run this game.

Not knowing for sure if this is Arcania 4 or an older version 1-3....going to assume arcania 4. That said...
Have you ever used a trainer for the game?

One such as this, just for an example, there are many kinds:
    http://www.gamescheatdirectory.com/PC-Games/Arcania-Gothic-4-Cheats-Trainers/

Noticed that it has a speed control function.

    -----------------
If not a trainer, which is a polite way of saying cheater/hacker, have you found yourself a good forum and inquired about editing a file that may have a setting for such. Assume if this game has speed option slider, you have already used this and it had no effect.

    -------updated--------
    Well........after going to a gameboard:
http://forum.jowood.com/showthread.php?t=173121&goto=nextnewest and reading a technical issue sticky dedicated to video performance ingame, I can see this is quite a popular and complex issue. No way to solve this on a one on one basis. You are going to have to continue as you have and try everything you find. Buzz word seems to be fps or framerate speed and finding the right combinations of patches, software and settings that will work for you based on your computer specs and graphics board. Wish there was an easier answer here but afraid there isn't.

This board has quite a long running thread with plenty of advice on what you can do. I can only suggest you read each thread in it thoroughly and give all a shot. Good luck.

NOTE*most of these posters are looking for ways to speed the gameplay up. Pay close attention to tweaks and do opposite sense its slower performance your after.
