I just built a new machine, however I didn't realize my MoBo does not have on-board video. This build is from scratch so I have two clear HDD's and a GPU that needs drivers to work.

The only solution I can think of is take out one of the drives, put that into a dummy machine, load the OS and video drivers onto it and then swap it back into my new machine and it should load fine. Is this correct? Is than an easier solution?

Windows will use the standard VGA driver when first installed - then you can install the graphics drivers for your card.

If you're installing Windows 7 the chances are that a compatible driver for your card will be installed.

So you're saying your box is completely dead? Not even a POST beep code?

Are you supplying power to the mainboard via the dedicated mainboard power connector?

Most mobos have a led on board to indicate that the board is powered up - my Asus P6T SE also has a power switch on the board.

Is your led lit - I suspect not.

Would be helpful to post make/model of mobo.
