I have a neat welcome screen I would like to use when 98SE boots up. I've gotten this to work before, but it stopped working when I reinstalled. I've moved the .BMP file to c:\windows\logo.sys, but the system is not recognizing it, and instead displaying the default welcome screen.

Is there some sort of registry entry I need to change to tell it "use the image in logo.sys? "

You need to change the name and extension of the file from BMP to SYS, so that 'filename.BMP' becomes 'logo.sys'. To change the extension, you will need to go into Folder Options, and uncheck 'Hide file extensions for known file types'.

I already changed it to LOGO.SYS but it's not using it.

I'd love to but how do I get it to you? Is there some sort of attachment facility with these posts? For that matter is there a PM option?

Left click on the members name (in blue) and in the dropdown list you will see the option to send PM.
