Hello All, I'm working on the above model laptop that just won't power on....I have changed to a known good power supply and still no power to the laptop. What other things can I try? are there jumper's on the motherboard I could short to reset the motherboard? can I bypass the power on switch? all suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Whacker...

Does it power up with the battery?

The power jack could have broken or one of it's wires. You would need to disassemble the laptop to resolder or replace it.

Okay Guys...I've stripped it down and everything appears to be good...well on visual inspection, I've rebuilt it and tried powering it up @ various stages...no joy.... I've changed the power button pcb no luck there :¬( so I think it's fair to say it's motherboard component failure??? well unless you know different. Anyone recommend a cheap secondhand parts shop online? otherwise it's over to e-bay....

    Thanks for your help.
