outlook 'insert file' window query

    Hello,
    I am using Windows 2000 and Microsoft Outlook 2000 SR-1 (9.0.0.3821)
    Usually when I 'insert a file' into an email it opens up its own little window at the bottom of the email and the file shows in that window.
    It has now stopped opening the window at the bottom and just drops the inserted file near the cursor
    Any ideas on how to fix please
