    broni,
No, I couldn't get recycle bin back. I tried all four methods unsuccessful. It seems there is something missing in regedit !

Method 1: Use the program that removed the Recycle Bin to restore the Recycle Bin

If you are using the classic Windows XP Start menu
    a. Locate the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\ClassicStartMenu
    b. In the right pane, right-click the following registry DWORD value, and then click Modify:
    {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

    -----------(No {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}; only have [Default]/data=value not set; {450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}/1 & {871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}/1)--------

    c. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK. (The TweakUI utility sets this value to 1 to hide the Recycle Bin icon.)

Method 2: Edit the registry to restore the Recycle Bin
To edit the registry to make the Recycle Bin icon reappear on the desktop, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
    3. Locate the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace

-----------(No 'NameSpace' sub folder only 'CleanupWiz' sub folder )---------

    4. Right-click the registry key that you located in step 3, point to New, and then click Key.
    5. Type {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}, and then press ENTER.
    6. Click the new {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} key that you created in step 5.
    7. In the right pane, double-click the (Default) entry.
    8. In the Edit String dialog box, type Recycle Bin in the Value data box, and then click OK.
    9. Close Registry Editor.

Method 3: Use the Group Policy Object Editor to restore the Recycle Bin
To use the Group Policy Object Editor to restore the Recycle Bin:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type GPEDIT.MSC in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. Under User Configuration, click Administrative Templates, and then double-click Desktop.
    3. Double-click Remove Recycle Bin icon from the desktop.
    4. Click the Setting tab, click Not Configured, and then click OK.

To use Registry Editor to restore the Recycle Bin:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    2. Locate the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\NonEnum

    ------------(No 'NonEnum' sub folder)-----------

    3. Click the registry key that you located in step 3, and then in the right pane, click the following registry DWORD value:
    {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
    4. On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click Yes.
    5. Close Registry Editor.

    Workaround
If you cannot restore the Recycle Bin by using the resolutions that are listed in this article, work around this issue by creating a

    shortcut to the Recycle Bin:
    1. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
    3. Click the View tab, and then click to clear the Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) check box.
    4. Click Yes when you receive the warning message, and then click OK to close the Folder Options dialog box.
    5. Click Folders on the toolbar.

Note If Folders is not visible on the toolbar, point to Toolbars on the View menu, and then click Standard Buttons.
    6. In the left navigation pane, under Folders, locate the Recycle Bin folder, and then drag the Recycle Bin folder to the desktop.

    -----------(No recycle bin folder found)-----------------

    7. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
    8. Click the View tab, and then click to select the Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) check box. Click OK.

    broni,
Recycle bin is back after running sfc but still can't do 'search' from win ex. 'sefe mode', 'system restore' and use 'FreshGet' working fine. Should I re-install FreshGet ?
What about TFC, Security Check ,JavaRa, MBRCheck & MBAM ? Uninstal ? Please let me know how to fix 'search'. Many thanks.

MBAM and TFC are keepers. You should run them, as I described in my reply #34.
    All others can be deleted.

So, "search" is the only issue right now?
    If so...

In this forum, we make sure, your computer is free of malware and your computer is clean :)
Because the access to malware forum is very limited, your best option is to create new topic about your current issue, at Windows section.
    You'll get more attention.

Since your computer is malware free, I'll mark it as resolved.

    broni,
Thanks very much for your help. The recycle bin & search in win ex are functioning right before OTL fix on Sunday (respond 19 hrs ago 02:56) because I was searching for the log file. But not after that. If I go to windows section as you suggest how can I ask them to refer to this whole sequence. Is there a ref# for this posting or just use the posting title as a reference ? Any suggestion on re-install FreshGet ? Thanks again.
