    WindowsXP SP2

    Dear Sir

Thank You very much for an early reply.

What exactly I want is that all my data will be stored in a local hard drive and that drive will be protected by password set by me and no one will be allowed to change , see, modify and open that drive under any circumstances.

    Regards.

    Sorry - need more information.

Do other people have direct access to the computer and or is it on a network?

At a guess? it sounds like you are wanting to have a hidden drive or Partion that only you can access?
This isn't my field, so maybe one of the geek squad may have a better answer?
You can use Bios to select boot drive, so on the drive you wish hidden load your O/S and have that drive recognise all other drives.
On a different drive load your O/S but do not have it recognise the hidden drive, password protect Bios so that only you have access, at boot you will need to access the bios to select the boot drive each time, I don't know if this is functional, but worth a try?
    Regards Jac

PS: the wife suggested Just use an external drive, you possibly can password lock it!?

I use Folder Guard, it is a very good program, even for external drives.
Do a search for that, it works for me.

Then don't allow network access to your drive. Where's the need to encrypt it ?
