Hello: is there an app (text editor -> simple rtf saving only, preferred, or free word processor) that saves the position of the cursor in wXP or w7? Wordpad, Jarte & OpenOffice don't. I have a very long doc & it would be helpful to not scroll down from page 1, every time I open it. Note that Bean in Mac OS 10 does do this. Thanks.

Until someone comes along who knows a better way, there are some keystrokes that may help.

If you're saving as .doc files, the Shift F5 key combination will take you to where the cursor was when you saved the document. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work with .docx files.

The Ctrl End key combination will take you to the end of the document.

The Page Down key takes you down through the document page by page and, of course, the Page Up key does the opposite.

Thanks, Miz! I will try your suggestion, shift-f5, since I prefer simpler .rtf & simpler editors than Word (cross-platform facilitation & all that).
