Beside Itunes, what else won't open? Re download Itunes and see if that helps.

You have not told us what you deleted, but sounds like something has got a bit messed up. The quickest solution will probably be a Repair install of windows, do you have a disc.

On the other hand, if he deleted/uninstalled a 3rd party software, a repair install will bring him nothing.

I'd suggest using Windows XP's System Restore to go back to a restore point prior to your "uninstall ". Read: How to restore Windows XP to a previous state

So if not the OS, what could have broken all the links/shortcuts with all the desktop icons:confused:

    Windows cannot open this file

    hi markmadras:

I was uninstalling driverwiz which i downloadwd for some reason and never used. I uninstalled battlefield 1942 and some other programs trying to be carefull not to uninstall something
of inportance to free up some disk space. I should never uninstall and its componets. It should never uninstall somthing that important but it does..

Anyway i would love to do the 1 u mention about reinstalling xp

but unfortuntaly that file (hepctr.exe) windows cannot open this file hepctr.exe . To open this file windows can go on line to look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs on your computer. Thanks if you or any 1 can figure ths out pls let me know. Dont have xp disk. Probly would not work any way got cd game on dis drive click on that ask me if i want t play or uninstall and nothin.

Board custom is to always try the least risky, destructive or intrusive method of a fix first. Other methods will always be available later.

Just in case restore points don't go back far enough or does not function at all you may wish to try to check out and see if "associations problem" is a possibility. See:
    http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_easy_file.htm
    OR
    http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm

    Start with the lnk fix.

    ---------------
Not having windows xp cd may become your number 1 issue but help center possibility could be:
    http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/fixwinxphelp.htm
    OR
    http://windowsxp.mvps.org/rebuildhelp.htm

    -------------------
Not being judgmental but "driver wizard" has so many google hits for torrent downloading and crack/serials numbers, that I have to go knee deep to find a relevant description of what this program is or does. I gave up looking but am left to wonder if you have either a file sharing client or have used such for this application. That leaves me to wonder if your virus/Trojan free. If in doubt you may wish to visit our expertly trained members in the malware virus forum and let them work their magic.
