I've continued to try and find a solution for you but this is the only other method I have come across. From what I have seen and read there are many people with the same problem.

    Try this:

I would think that this should be done without IE9 running.

If this works it should leave you with your original version of IE

There is only one other suggestion I have found that IE9 is listed in 'view installed updates' as KB 982861. This might be worth a try but I have not been able to confirm this anywhere.

I just had another thought with this problem relating to the earlier methods suggested.

When you viewed the list of updates were you looking at update history or installed updates It has to be installed updates to find IE9.

If that's true, your only option is a system restore AFAIK.

Maybe next time a bit more careful with beta software?

I agree, but on the other hand there is clearly a big problem uninstalling IE9, but they don't warn you about that, do they. I've seen the instructions from microsoft saying it should appear in installed updates but judging by the number of threads I have read this is not often the case, forcing many to do a restore to get rid of it. Microsoft could correct this problem, but will they?????

Let's wait until it comes out of the development (Beta) stage first Mark ;)

As has been pointed out, using beta software on a required system is a big no no. You should always test this on boxes that you are quite capable of recovering any and all data/software installed.
