    Hi,

I have just downloaded what looks to be a fantastic 400 series demo from the Nvidia website. I went to run it and it just crashes, just like Nvidia Supersonic Sled after I restart my computer.

This is the full scope of what happens with the 2 apps:

    Supersonic Sled:
*the Graphics Drivers are Freshly installed on the system*
runs fine and will continue to run until closed no problems.
    *restart the computer*
The demo starts the gives the error message "This demo requires a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 4xx series Graphics card or better to run" it the procedes loading and then gives another error "NrenderDX11::CreateShaderEX: Couldn't read shader" it then gives the error 5 more times and closes.

    Stone Giant
after setting the settings to 1920x1200 and full screen in its launcher and pressing "run Stone Giant" it opens a window (which is black) and then after 1 or so seconds it goes the greyed over colour (that non responsive windows do) and a dialogue box appears saying "windows is checking for a solution to the problem" and then closes

I'm starting to get a bit pi$$ed off now after 2 demos that look/are really good wont work for some inexplicable reason.

I am running the latest Nvidia non BETA drives on a Gigabyte GTX 480 GPU with an overclocked Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16 GHZ @ 3.82GHz and 4GB of DDR 2 800 memory

First thoughts on this is a possible incompatability with your OS Windows 7 64bit.

Check what OS the game is compatible with, you may have to consider running it in XP Mode.

    nope

its compatible with the OS it was released only a matter of weeks ago.. heres the page I got it from...
    Nvidia.com

I have also tried downdating my graphics drivers and that DOES NOT work either, also the errors persist in any settings.

Try removing the overclocking on your CPU and set it back to default.

Not sure what you meant by this.

My only remaining thoughts on this, as the problem seems confined to a demo version of a game then perhaps it is a problem with the game itself and not your computer. It could also be something you have running in the background that is causing a conflict.

    Qatc

thanx for the help I have recentally updated the drivers to the newest BETA set and the Video Card Demos worked, until I restarted the PC...

I think this thread can now be closed as I am convinced that something is blocking it and have seen the Video Demos and used their Benchmarks and still prefer Unigene's Heaven BM

NOTE: The software is not a GAME demo its a Video Card Rendering Demo (in other words the app shows what the Graphics card can do and how well it can do it... often they include Benchmarking software aswell) examples are Heaven By Unigene, Supersonic Sled By Nividia, Geoshapes By Nvidia and so on...

also the "Refurbish" comment was about the new PC that is goning to be assembled sometime in the near future (That detail somehow got missed out... sorry)
