Hi All, ............ A strange situation using Firefox 3.6.10 and Thunderbird 2.0.0.24. For several years I have been receiving periodic issues of an e-mail from a particular site. In the most recent issue I found that none of the links in the e-mail would open for me. Thinking it was a browser issue I completely removed Firefox and then reinstalled it. Same situation, no improvement, but Firefox appeared to perform normally on all my bookmarks. Obviously I'm writing this at WindowsBBS. I also went back several months to previous issues of the e-mails and found that the links would not open now. Here is an address and one of the links that will not open:

I'll predict that you will have no trouble opening the site and neither will I when it appears as a forum post. So my question is: Why is this condition confined to a particular email and what can be done to eliminate it?

Your correct I had no problem opening the link.

Is it being blocked by your Firewall.

I have no problem either. I am using Zone Alarm as Firewall. Which one do you have?
Typically, links are not blocked by Firewall or program, unless something is done (or not).
Look at your Firewall properties, and see if the site is blocked. But, it may be some other reason.
Did you try Internet Explorer? Just copy the address and paste it in the URL box. If it is the Firewall, IE would be blocked, as well.
I am using Firefox 3.5.15. But 3.6.10 works well, too.

first, you need to define the actual link. Is it hi-lited as blue and underlined? When you hover your mouse over it, do you see the destination in the status bar? Or, does the link look something like this: http://learn.ask-leo.com where its not an actual link.

If it looks like the first one, can you post a small screen shot of it so we can see whats going on? Thanks.

To all who responded, ........... Thank you for your help. I went to Control Panel and opened my firewall system, Windows Firewall, then clicked on the Advanced tab and clicked the Settings button for Local Area Connection 3. This brought up a Services screen with drop-downs. I placed a check in Post-Office Protocol Version 3 (POP3). OKed my way out and shut the computer down then reopened it. All the links in the e-mail now open. Great work.
