Active Suspected malware

Cannot remember if I already asked but, do you have your Windows installation CD?

You have a file that failed Combofix's sigcheck and it looks like there are no other copies on the system.

May be able to replace it with a file from the CD.

This is the file and loacation: c:\windows\system32\sfcfiles.dll

So if you have the CD, can you copy that file and then paste it into the system32 folder.

No, I don't have it. The Windows I got is an acquaintance's that fixed this comp once when it got a nasty virus. I should've probably asked him to copy it for me. Ah well.

 

Sorry for the late reply. I will boot into XP when I can and see if I can get a copy of that file and upload it to you.
