    Hi all
I am recently recovering from a failed motherboard and I think I have everything back up and running except for FF & TB ! Luckily both were on my F:/ drive so I have everything there, but I don't know how to get them to launch . I had a shortcut on desktop for both but since I had to reformat my C:/ drive everything was lost on my C:/ drive. I still have the edited profile I made when I moved FF & TB from my C:/ drive originally

    Hi Sutsujsti,

I think you will need to reinstall FF & TB as you will have lost all the registry entries.

I am sure further advice will follow.

I kinda figured I would have to re install but I don't want to make a mistake epically with TB. I am using FF portable on my thumb drive (and its working great )

Thunderbird can happily use your current mail settings & mailboxes.

Backup your TB profile folder somewhere else. Start profile manager [Thunderbird -P], create a new profile & choose existing folder as your default folder. Set it as Default [first on the list],check "Don't Ask at Startup" and click "Start Thunderbird ". You should be able to see all your mails & accounts.

THX for the reply so I install TB on my C: drive and then open profile manager and point it to my profile on my F: drive and do the same for firefox

    yes.

In fact its a good idea to keep all your data on separate drive/partition so that if your OS partition goes belly up, you face minimum of problems.

Just remember to take a backup somewhere else before doing anything. Just in case...
