OK, sorry to go on about this but have you made quite sure that all the drivers and software are compatible. i.e. you are not running any 64bit drivers or software on the 32bit OS. Some drivers and some software will run on both 32 & 64bit systems but not all of them.

As your problems started when you upgraded from 32 to 64bit I keep thinking this has to be a driver issue.

When you get the BSOD's is there any error message?

You would be well advised to go to the manufacturer's website for drivers ,,,,

    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Option 2 - scan your computer for graphics drivers.

the 9600 gt on nvidia site is only 512 mb + it actually says point of view on the board.
http://www.pointofview-online.com/default2.php?content_id=36 (the correct page for drivers)

    Product NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
    Current Installed Driver 258.96
Latest Driver Update Your PC currently has the latest driver installed for your GPU. No driver update is necessary at this time.

sry bout the pictures, not sure how much u can tell from those:

Thes are the definitions of your STOP errors ....
What is the .sys file half hidden on the LH side of the screen?
I suggest you run your dump files through BlueScreenView and post the report.
Your graphics driver is the latest - I don't see Point-of-View on the page I posted, but that's the only one I go to at nVidia.

there is no Minidump folder in c:\windows.
those 2 pics are all i have, i never checked if they were centered or not.

im going to swap RAM again the 1st module ran about 24hrs (PC on non stop) with no issues

was just explaining why i was getting my VGA driver from point of view instead of going directly to nvidia

Both of your screenshots indicate that a dump was made - search for *.dmp.

kl1.sys is part of Kapersky which I assume you are running?

Consider using another av - MSE, Avast ..... all free and effective.

    i just remembered this:
when i ran the upgrade adviser it said:
    Kaspersky Internet Security 2010
    version 9.0.0.736
Kaspersky Lab This program has earned Microsoft's Compatible with Windows 7 logo.
Learn more about the Compatible with Windows 7 logo

so could the crash have been caused by something other than incompatibility? so perhaps wait and see if i get more trouble from KIS? or is there no point in that?

It would do no harm to uninstall Kapersky completely and run a free AV for a while to see if that really is the cause of the problem.

How to uninstall Kaspersky Internet Security 2010?

However do one thing at a time - memory checking or software, not both simultaneously :)
