    Good stuff here.

I realize that you are trying to create something on your own but you need to learn all the steps that this site will present.

It's not that difficult to substitute a different file for the default one but when you try to alter the default or create your own, you must be aware of all the rules.

Well, you've missed some step along the way. Perhaps give this one a read?

    One more Question

Have you actually done this before. We got it to work if we modified the actual logo.sys file and not create a new one but then it would not carry over to a new computer. I am missing something or are those the rules one needs to follow, recreating the logo.sys for each computer?

Oops, sorry about that Michael, I missed your post.
No, I've not done it..... though I've come across many posts by those that have? How goes the battle?

all is well that ends well

yes i am sorry as well, the file my marketing person sent me was the wrong one. Now that we have altered an orginal windows file we can use it on any PC. The altering an orginal seems to be the trick cut out the windows stuff and past in your own. Then it can be used on any computer. Thank you daisy, have a nice day.

Your Logo.sys file must have a color depth of 256 colors (8 bit), and its file size must be 127K. If it is 320 pixelsx 400 pixels x 256 colors, it will be 127K in size. The Windows startup routine will reject a Logo.sys file that doesn't meet these criteria.

If you followed that strict criteria, it should have worked. I have done it many times.

    it all over now

Im just going of memory but the orginal file is 126 k, and it may have worked she also had the pixels reveresed 400x320, but it's all good it is working now. Saw you have an HP, thats to bad we bought a bunch for work as well (well not me this was before me) they have issues for sure.
