    I appreciate your understanding Tony.
As I said, I really didn't overlook it. The recording device was not there. Then it shows up, I don't get it. It's not like I didn't look at the tab before, I did.
    I just don't get it.

    Arie,
I just looked at the audacity link you posted, and w/out the directions Charles listed, I'd have never found the info. When I look at a pg like that my senses are literally overwhelmed, and I can't sort through all I'm seeing. Most of the time downloading software is this way, because there are so many adverts and so much extraneous text on the pg. I often wonder why they can't just send you to a download pg w/ just a button to download the software. I know it sounds stupid, and seems so simple to you, but you don't have my disability. It's a nightmare dude. It really is.

  3. to hide this advert.

When I got a computer with Vista for the first time I had the same problems some of which could not be resolved because the software I was trying to run did not have a driver for Vista. My HP scanner is an example. Can not run it on Vista and HP is not making a driver for it so I am having to run this on my old XP machine.

Is it possible that it showed up after a reboot? Audio cards will function and play sounds after a driver install, but audio driver installs usually require a reboot for all its components to register and load, even in Win7.

I get that Tony, and yes there have been several reboots, but no additional drivers have been added. I'm sure it wasn't there previously because I've checked that same tab many times.
    Twilight Zone experience!
