I have been running OLD COMPUTER with XP,sp2 and Internet Explorer 8 and OutlookExpress for email.
Now I have NEW COMPUTER running on Win7 Pro 64 bit with IE8 and Outlook for email. The new stuff is not intuitive and indeed is rather confusing. I have pretty good "intermediate" experience and skill,----but--
QUESTION: What is the very BEST, thorough, extensive Book for me to buy which will give me all the ins-and-outs for using Win7? Cost is not a factor; I want the best book.
It would be a bonus if the book also explains using IE8. That is somwhat different when using it with Win7 compared to XP.

This is maybe a silly question, but I really do need help and advice. Thanks!-----Lee

    Re: Best Book for Win7

Thanks Mark for your quick and good reply. However, I am looking for a book that is much more technical and detailed that the "Dummies" series. I have a book on XP which is about 2.5 inches thick and really gets in to all the details. Maybe I should say, without justification, that I consider my self a cut above the "Dum mies" type. Thanks! --Lee

I agree with lj50, Windows 7 Inside Out is a great book. Even more advanced (probably) is the Windows 7 Resource Kit, but that's probably highly technical.

I haven't had a look at the Windows 7 RC kit, I did get it back in Windows XP days.

Another book I didn't read, Paul Thurrott's Windows 7 Secrets. Some of you may be aware of Paul's SuperSite for Windows.

Thanks Arie. Forgot about Windows 7 Resource Kit. I read XP Inside/Out, XP Resource Kit, and 7 Inside/Out cover to cover. Next book I read cover to cover will be Windows 7 Resource Kit.
